Youth Curriculum, 3-5-23

Curriculum Overview

Youth learn the benefit of asking their intuitive self, “What wisdom do you have for me today, and what do I need to know?” Today we dance like no one is watching, learn the 8 steps to Personal Empowerment, and create something perfectly imperfect.

2023 Theme: Living Out Loud!
March Monthly Theme:  Cultivating Authenticity
Week 1 Value: Everyone Else is Already Taken

Affirmation: I love and accept myself exactly as I am.

Spiritual Lesson: Living Curiosity Out Loud – Freedom

We all have the ability to listen “within” to our inner wisdom. Doing so allows us to have a greater awareness of the God Qualities that are a part of our “being”. We often refer to these qualities as Life, Light, Joy, Love, Peace, Beauty, and Power.

Throughout the month of March, we are invited to open to our avenues of awareness by tapping into our Divine nature. All are a part of God.

Active Listening: Book/Music/Video

We choose from our book list, The Listening Walk, The Princess and the Kingshuk Tree, and Incredible You!, and discuss how we can use inspiration from our inner wisdom to do things that bring us joy and help to share our authenticity with others.

Creative Expression –   Music is My Muse

Ecstatic Dance will start our active meditation practice – dancing the way we feel inspired to and like no one is watching!

We look at what it means to live an empowered life – knowing we are uniquely magnificent. Youth participate in activities that examine the 8 Steps to Personal Empowerment, opening to possibilities and trusting who they are.

Connecting/Spiritual Practice: Authentically Me!

In a circle facing outward, youth have 3 minutes to shape their Play-Doh into something that is called out. We share how unique our designs are, and we name one thing that we like about our neighbor’s design. We do it over three times.
