Outdoor Adventure Group

If you enjoy going for walks, hikes, garden tours, and more, Crystal Vernon and Beth Thompson invite you to join them on various outdoor adventures for all fitness levels. We have a few planned outings for September, keeping in mind our fall weather in the Northwest!

Here is the schedule for upcoming events:

Squaxin Park, Thursday, September 24 – Join Interfaith Works for a community healing ritual from 12 noon-1 pm. Following this, we will enjoy our sack lunch prior to walking one of the many beautiful nature trails. Meet at Shelter 1 by the rose garden at noon.

Tumwater Falls, Thursday, October 1 – Come walk the approximate 1-mile loop at Tumwater Falls and view the amazing Chinook salmon spawning. Meet at the park entrance at 12noon
Tumwater Falls

Mima Falls/Capital Forest mindfulness hike, Saturday, October 10, 10:00 a.m. meetup for carpool. “Mima” is believed to be a Native American word meaning “a little further along.”. Well-maintained trail with 600 ft elevation gain through forest and wetlands. The round trip is 5.5 miles, with an optional additional mile. A mindfulness hike supports our physical and mental well-being.

South Capitol neighborhood walk, Sunday, October 25, 6:30-7:30 p.m.  View homes decorated with fun and spooky trimmings for Halloween 🎃 . Includes a visit to the Pumpkin House and an option for a dinner gathering beforehand.  The Pumpkin House is a long‑running Olympia Halloween tradition where the Sheeran family and friends display over 100 elaborately carved pumpkins, drawing thousands of visitors and raising funds for the local food bank.
