Curriculum Overview

This 5th Sunday Youth/Adult Service, youth assist Rev. David in reflecting on the opportunity that the new year brings for personal and collective growth, emphasizing the idea of resolutions that go beyond the usual and delve into living as wholeness.

2023 Theme: Living Out Loud!
December Monthly Theme: Living as Wholeness
Week 5 Value: A Wholeness Resolution

Affirmation: We Are Whole, and We Share Wholeness

Message: We desire to approach the new year with a focus on spiritual wholeness and intentional living. The emphasis is on personal resolutions aligned with spiritual principles and a collective commitment to hold others in the light throughout the year.

Spiritual Practice: Youth collectively make a New Year’s resolution as a group with an “Extra Grace” list of organizations to jointly pray for throughout the year. We practice seeing goodness and sending love.

Active Listening: Youth take turns sharing one usual New Year’s resolution and then add a twist to it by incorporating an aspect of living with wholeness, humility, compassion, or generosity. They choose a reading to share with their CSL community during service.

Activity: Youth present their visual representation of “A World Living in Wholeness” to their CSL community, which they worked on during our month-long Wholeness lessons.

Connecting: Youth write down one visible practice they intend to help carry the spirit of wholeness into their daily lives.
