Sunday, April 20th is Easter, and our Youth & Family Ministry is excited to host our annual Easter Egg Hunt after service, beginning at 12:30 PM. We invite everyone to help us celebrate by cheering on our youth as they search for their special eggs, bringing your favorite snack to share, and joining in some joyful outdoor play. It’s a beautiful opportunity to connect, celebrate, and share in the joy of the season—come be part of the fun!

Curriculum Overview:

Youth explore the power of visioning as a spiritual tool to align with their future goals, release limiting beliefs, and connect with Spirit’s highest vision for their lives. Through mindfulness, movement, and creative reflection, they’ll practice looking beyond their current circumstances with hope, imagination, and trust.

April Monthly Theme: Fertilizing Our Future
Week 2 Value:  Visioning Beyond the Horizon
Affirmation: “I set my sights beyond the horizon, aligning my intentions with the future I desire.”

Spiritual Lesson:

Visioning helps us look beyond what we see right now and connect to the big, beautiful life Spirit is helping us grow into. When we take small steps, let go of doubts, and listen to our inner voice, we move closer to who we are meant to be.

Mindfulness: “Future Me Visioning Meditation”

Youth close their eyes and take a few calming breaths, then picture their best future selves doing something they love. They imagine what it looks like, feels like, and what daily habits help them become that person.

Active Listening: Book/Music/Video

  • Book: “What Do You Do With a Chance?” by Kobi Yamada
  • Music: “Unstoppable” by Sia (clean)
  • Book:  “Dream Big, Little One” by Vashti Harrison (younger class)
  • Music: “Try Everything” by Shakira (younger class)

Creative Expression: “My Vision Map”

Youth draw a simple path leading from “Now Me” to “Future Me,” adding goals, values, and small habits to take them there. They reflect on what they need to let go of to keep moving forward. This visual journaling activity encourages goal-setting, introspection, and recognizing small steps that align with long-term dreams.

Lessons in Action: “Horizon Relay”

In teams, youth run to collect words or symbols representing long-term goals (e.g., love, courage, art, health), then bring them back to build a shared “Horizon Wall.” Between each run, they must release a limiting belief card (e.g., “I’m not good enough”) by tossing it in a “Let Go” bin.

Connecting: “Growing Together: A Four-Bed Garden for Service”

This four-week project will engage youth and adults in creating a four-bed garden while also developing an art piece that symbolizes growth. Each Sunday will focus on a different phase of the project, leading to a presentation on the fourth Sunday after youth class.
