Youth Curriculum, 3-24-24

Announcements:

Our upcoming INSPIRE Life-Skills Workshop is March 25th at 5 pm! We are delving into “The Art of Budgeting & Financial Responsibility.” This is what we all wish we were taught in school!

Teens 13-18 will explore budget scenarios, empowering them to create their own financial plan tailored to their goals. Bring us your money challenge and walk away with at least three actionable steps that will make a positive difference in your financial health by summer. Share the feeling of financial empowerment and bring a friend along to this enlightening financial life Skills Workshop! See you there!

Curriculum Overview:

Youth explore embracing their Divine Potential and discover their innate power to make a positive impact. Through discussions on purpose, abundance, and action, they’ll explore ways to serve others. Engaging in service project planning, youth will brainstorm and create action plans and experience music to inspire their potential for change.

2024 Theme: A Grand Rising
March Monthly Theme: That’s How We’ve Never Done It
Week 4 Value: New… Now… What’s Next?

Affirmation: I honor my divine potential and experience joy when I share it.

Spiritual Lesson:

We’re awakening in a new way to the Truth that we’re bigger than we thought we were. We’re stepping into our identity as divine humans – God’s experience and expression of Itself in/through/as us. Now, what are we going to do about it? Youth learn to recognize and embrace their divine potential and explore ways to express it through service and action.

Active Listening: Book/Music/Video

Book: “Be the Change: A Grandfather Gandhi Story” by Arun Gandhi and Bethany Hegedus

Book: “The Dot” by Peter H. Reynolds (encourages creativity and self-expression)

Music: “Brave” by Sara Bareilles

Music: “This Is Me” from The Greatest Showman soundtrack

Creative Expression: Service Project Planning

Youth will collaborate in small groups to select a local service project, brainstorm ideas, and create action plans. They’ll align their interests and talents with community needs, developing goals, timelines, and responsibilities. This hands-on experience fosters creativity, teamwork, and practical skills in making positive contributions.

Connecting/Spiritual Practice: Service Project Visualization

Youth will sketch themselves and their classmates engaging in the community service project they’ve planned. This creative exercise fosters connection and reinforces their commitment to making a difference. By visualizing their project in action, they deepen their sense of purpose and collective impact.
