Youth Curriculum, 1-8-23

Curriculum Overview

Everyone we see is a reflection of God. Youth learn about the one power that is in all people using the ocean analogy to demonstrate spirit where we are a drop of the ocean. We realize our power and work in concert with that same power existing in everyone.

January Monthly Theme:  Root & Reboot
Week 2 Value: The Universal Voice – Spirituality

Affirmation: As God is, I am, we are.

Spiritual Lesson: Faith

We realize our power and work in concert with that same power existing in everyone. Everyone we see is a reflection of God.

Active Listening: Book/Music/Video

We will read three short stories from Zen Shorts by Jon J Muth. Each story is an example of how You cannot be responsible for the acceptance of others. Each is an individual. Though you poured an ocean of love over one, he must receive it. A bucket that is turned upside down, even in a cloudburst, will not be filled…The Law of Mind reflects your mental attitudes exactly as they are.  “This Thing Called You” page 46

Creative Expression –  This Thing Called You

We will create separate and combine drops of water as symbolism craft to reflect how we may separate or join but are still of the one source. Both groups will do a practice meditation using our imagination to find out how to hear God.

Connecting:  Human Puzzle

Youth and teens design their own “personality” puzzle piece. When cut out and placed together, we see how beautifully we all come together as a whole.
