Curriculum Overview
Youth discover ways they can see the invisible Universal power called God, Spirit, Energy, or Divine in action that surrounds them, flows through them, and protects and guides them. We participate in a practice called Send & Receive, where we use our intuitive Divine Intelligence to “know” without seeing what our friend is drawing.
January Monthly Theme: Root & Reboot
Week 1 Value: God is a Concept – Faith
Affirmation: I am a perfect expression of Divine Intelligence.
Spiritual Lesson: Faith
Youth focus on the belief that there is one power in the Universe that flows in and through all things. This power is invisible, but we know it is there. It is called by many different names (God, Spirit, etc.).
Active Listening: Book/Music/Video
We watched a video about the interconnected community of trees based on the work of Forestry Professor Suzanne Simard as a powerful example of how the universal life source that we are made of communicates and continually supports life.
Creative Expression – This Thing Called You
Youth discover ways we see the invisible Universal power called God, Spirit, Energy, or Divine in action that surrounds us, flows through us, protects, and guides us. Looking at nature (bird migration), science (sun & moon), and biology (growing from a baby to a child without having to ‘do’ anything), we see God as a creative force in our lives.
We illustrate the power of universal divine intelligence with examples from nature.
Connecting: Send & Receive
Youth experience a practice called Sending and Receiving, where they learn how it is possible to intuitively “know” what picture our friend is drawing using our Divine Intelligence.
