January Theme: Revolutionary Agreements – Living in Truth
Week 1 Value: I Agree to Live My Mission
Affirmation: I agree to live my mission in my life now.
Curriculum Overview
This first week of January invites youth and teens into the foundational practice of authenticity. Living one’s mission is explored not as a future achievement, but as a present-moment choice. Youth are encouraged to see truth as alignment—when thoughts, feelings, words, and actions reflect who they truly are. Being “open at the top” means remaining curious, receptive, and willing to grow while living honestly from the inside out.
Spiritual Lesson:
The twelve Revolutionary Agreements rest on the trinity of Truth, Love, and Power—beginning with Truth. “Your truth” is another way of saying authenticity. When we live our mission, we are not trying to become someone else; we are agreeing to be more fully ourselves. Living in truth doesn’t require certainty or perfection—it requires courage, presence, and self-honesty. Our mission unfolds as we align with who we are right now.
Spiritual Practice: Authenticity Check-In
Youth are guided through a brief grounding practice, placing a hand on the heart and taking a few slow breaths. They silently reflect on the question: Where in my life am I being true to myself right now? and Where might I be holding back? The practice ends by repeating the affirmation together, anchoring intention into the body.

Creative Expression: Mission Mapping
Youth create visual “Mission Maps” using drawing, collage, or symbols to represent their values, gifts, interests, and what brings them joy. Teens may add words or phrases that describe how they want to show up in the world this year. Emphasis is placed on exploration, not defining a final answer.
Connecting: Values Relay Game
Teams move across the room to match everyday scenarios with values such as honesty, kindness, creativity, or courage. This playful movement activity reinforces the idea that living one’s mission happens through daily choices and actions. The group closes by reflecting on how connection, teamwork, and self-expression support living authentically within community.
