We love that this practice can be done anywhere!

June Monthly Theme: Embracing Self-Care
Week 2 Value: Balancing Grief and Joy

Affirmation: With a little perspective pause, I can choose joy.

Spiritual Lesson: Balancing Grief and Joy

Grief itself is neither good nor bad, yet it is an emotion that must be attended to. Through our creative process, we have the ability to embrace difficult emotions, allow them to serve as our growth, and then transform them into joy.

Active Listening: Book/Music/Video

Book: The youth read The Three Questions by Jon J Muth, about a boy who struggled to figure out when to do things, who is the most important, and what is the right thing to do. He learns engagingly to start something, and whatever he is doing and whoever he is with is the most essential thing for the right path to light the following right way.

Creative Expression –  My Calming Power

Connecting/Spiritual Practice: Laughing as Self-Care

Youth practice deep laughing with help from a contagious laugh track and then make up silly yoga poses for everyone to copy.
