April Theme: Foundations of Spirit: Discovering the Divine Within
Week 2 Value: The Way It Works
Affirmation: I align with Spirit and experience Life more abundantly.
Curriculum Overview:
In Week 2, youth and teens explore how spiritual principles operate in everyday life. Building on the understanding that Spirit lives within them, this week focuses on how that Presence works—through alignment, trust, and flow rather than force and control.
Through an interactive “River Flow Challenge,” participants experience the difference between working with the natural flow and resisting it. Youth begin to recognize that when they align their thoughts, attitudes, and actions with love, patience, and trust, life tends to move more smoothly and with greater ease.
Spiritual Lesson:
Life is designed to work in harmony. Spiritual principles are always active, guiding and supporting growth, connection, and possibility.
Youth explore the idea that when they try to force outcomes, control situations, or resist what is happening, they often create tension and obstacles. However, when they pause, listen, and align with qualities like patience, cooperation, and trust, they move more easily through challenges.
This lesson emphasizes that alignment with Spirit is not about giving up, but about working with a deeper intelligence that leads to greater ease, clarity, and abundance.
Spiritual Practice: River Flow Challenge & Alignment Reflection
Youth participate in a hands-on “River Flow Challenge,” where teams guide an object along a path representing a flowing river. At certain points, they are encouraged to either force movement or adjust and follow the natural flow.
As they engage in the activity, they observe how cooperation, awareness, and flexibility create smoother movement, while rushing or forcing creates obstacles.

Youth contribute to an ongoing April installation by creating “river stones” or pathway pieces. Each piece includes:
- A word representing alignment (trust, patience, flow, courage)
- A short phrase such as “I go with the flow of Spirit”
These pieces are added to a growing pathway or river display, symbolizing the journey of aligning with Life. The collective installation visually represents how individual alignment contributes to a smoother, more connected whole.
Connecting: Flow Circle
Youth complete the sentence: “When I trust the flow of life, I…”
Group Response: “Move with ease and possibility.”
