Curriculum Overview:

Youth will explore and celebrate their unique qualities through creative activities, literature, and music, embracing the theme of “Colorful Creations: Celebrating Our Unique Essence.” They will reflect on their individuality by creating “Rainbow Reflection” posters and sharing personal talents or experiences, fostering a sense of inclusivity and self-expression. The session concludes with a showcase of their creations, assisting Rev David with the message that our diverse colors make the world more vibrant and beautiful.

Week 5 Value: Colorful to the Core
Affirmation: I embrace my uniqueness and appreciate the colors of humanity.

Spiritual Lesson: 

Youth will celebrate their unique qualities through creative activities and assist the reverend by showcasing their colorful expressions. Through posters, personal talents, and shared experiences, they will highlight how our diverse colors make the world more vibrant and beautiful.

Movement: – “True Colors” by Cyndi Lauper (5 minutes):

Youth sing and groove to “True Colors” by Cyndi Lauper, a song that reminds us to embrace our authentic selves and celebrate our true colors.

Creative Expression: Colorful Creations Showcase (15 minutes):

Youth prepare for their “Colorful Creations Showcase”! They will contribute a piece of artwork, poem, or story that celebrates your unique essence. Get creative and let your true colors shine!

Connecting: Rainbow Reflections (15 minutes):

Youths start by reflecting on their own unique qualities. They will create a “Rainbow Reflection” poster, using different colors to represent aspects of themselves. Think about your interests, talents, and personality traits as you fill in each color of the rainbow.
