Announcements:

Thank you, Robin Lee, for being our guest speaker in the youth and teen classes today. She introduced us to a practical and easy addition to our self-care tools with a practice called Marmaa Shakti which helps to re-balance perspective and create positive emotions. We love that this practice can be done anywhere!

Curriculum Overview

To add to our Self-Care power tools, youth learn a new mind-calming technique from guest speaker and community member Robin Lee called Marmaa Shakti that helps to re-balance perspective and create positive emotions.

Spiritual Lesson: Balancing Grief and Joy

Grief itself is neither good nor bad, yet it is an emotion that must be attended to. Through our creative process, we have the ability to embrace difficult emotions, allow them to serve as our growth, and then transform them into joy.

Active Listening: Book/Music/Video

Book: The youth read The Three Questions by Jon J Muth, about a boy who struggled to figure out when to do things, who is the most important, and what is the right thing to do. He learns engagingly to start something, and whatever he is doing and whoever he is with is the most essential thing for the right path to light the following right way.

Creative Expression –  My Calming Power

Youth learn a new mind-calming technique from guest speaker Robin Lee called Marmaa Shakti to help re-balance perspective and create positive emotions.

Connecting/Spiritual Practice: Laughing as Self-Care

Youth practice deep laughing with help from a contagious laugh track and then make up silly yoga poses for everyone to copy.
