Youth Curriculum, 2-26-23

Curriculum Overview

Youth use their natural abilities of curiosity and imagination to practice living out loud. We imagine who we want to be when we grow up and what we would most like to do to share our talents out in the world.

2023 Theme: Living Out Loud!
February Monthly Theme:  Curiosity As a Superpower
Week 4 Value: Living Curiosity Out Loud – Freedom

Affirmation: I am free to be me.

Spiritual Lesson: Living Curiosity Out Loud – Freedom

“We are the ones we’ve been waiting for and the journey to freedom is about embodying and living the Truth of Love, Unity, and Freedom.” Youth examines how choice is always available to them when they live out loud.

Active Listening: Book/Music/Video

In a guided meditation practice, youth visualize what kind of person they want to be when they grow up. Youth read stories and listen to music from the book Free To Be You and Me by Marlo Thomas and The Country Mouse and the City Mouse by Eric Blair.

Creative Expression –  Living Boldly

Using our toolbox of spiritual principles of self-awareness, we see with new eyes who we truly are and share what we love about ourselves in bold ways.

Youth demonstrate something that they have received praise or recognition for in school and then imagine who they want to be when they grow up and how they want to do good out in the world.

Connecting/Spiritual Practice: Freedom & Responsibility Game

Our youth take turns throwing a ball to a friend in a circle who chooses how to be responsible with a given freedom that is presented to them until everyone has a turn with each freedom presented.
