Help Us Bring the Blooms to the Harvest Festival!

We have a new Harvest Festival volunteer opportunity! Lynch Creek Farm is generously donating beautiful dahlias for us to sell at the festival. A few days before the event, volunteers will head out to pick flowers and create gorgeous bouquets to share with our community.

Our dahlia bouquets were a huge hit last year, and this is a fun way to celebrate the abundance and beauty of the end-of-season harvest!

Want to help? Sign up at the volunteer table in the Fellowship Hall!

5th Sunday Youth & Teen Curriculum
The Fear and the Furious: Riding the Energy
Affirmation: I open my heart to growth through connection.

This month we explore the significance of fear and anger in our spiritual development. Intense emotions are a normal part of being human. Rather than allowing fear or anger to run over us, we can learn to recognize these energies, understand what they are showing us, and consciously direct them toward courage, connection, and positive change.

Youth and teens will help bring these ideas to life by sharing what they’ve learned throughout the month and connecting their experiences to the larger community.

Part 1 — Energy in Motion

Youth and teens will help lead a brief interactive demonstration showing how fear, anger, and courage can feel like different kinds of energy moving through us. They’ll invite the congregation to notice how we respond to intense emotions and consider how we might redirect that energy rather than allowing it to control our choices.

Part 2 — What We’ve Learned

Teens will share brief experiences from Teen Camp and Foundations that connect with the month’s themes of courage, vulnerability, conflict, and connection. Youth can also offer short reflections about activities or lessons that helped them understand their emotions differently.

Part 3 — Community Circle of Repair

Youth and teens will demonstrate the Community Circle of Repair using a fictional conflict between two community members. They’ll guide the congregation through the steps of Listen → Understand → Take Responsibility → Repair → Reconnect, demonstrating how Ubuntu’s “I am because we are” philosophy invites us to address harm while restoring relationship and belonging.

The youth and teens become both learners and teachers, giving the congregation a glimpse into what they have explored throughout the month while helping connect the lessons to our shared spiritual community.
