Curriculum Overview:

Youth explore the theme of trusting divine guidance by engaging in daily practices they can take anywhere, reminding them that they are never alone and that they can always trust in the wisdom of divine intelligence within themselves.

2024 Theme: A Grand Rising

March Monthly Theme: That’s How We’ve Never Done It
Week 3 Value: Tell Me Something Good
Affirmation: I don’t know how, but Spirit does!

Spiritual Lesson:

Sometimes, it’s only when all our problem-solving skills fall short that we remember there’s a deeper intelligence within us, offering us our perfect answer. “I don’t know how, but Spirit does!”

Youth learn the concept of “God winks” or synchronicities as ways in which divine intelligence communicates with us and are invited to share examples of these types of experiences they have encountered. We discuss the importance of being open to surprises and unexpected solutions.

Active Listening: Book/Music/Video

Book: Listening to My Body by Gabi Garcia

Book: The Adventures of Beekle: The Unimaginary Friend by Dan Santat

Music: I Am Light by India Arie

Music: I Can See Clearly Now by Johnny Nash

Creative Expression: Trust Walk

Youth are divided into pairs. With one person blindfolded and the other acting as their guide, they take turns leading their blindfolded partner outdoors with only their voice and directions to move around obstacles safely.

Connecting/Spiritual Practice: Trust Reflections

Youth share their personal experience with the Trust Walk activity and describe any differences they noticed the more times they took turns and the difference in experience between being the guide and being led with blindfolds. On a 3X5 card, they write three positive qualities they learned about themselves while experiencing both roles.
