Youth Curriculum, 9-3-23

Announcements:

Youth & Family is beginning a Back To School Spiritual Tool add-on series to our in-class lessons for September. Parents will receive a tool to work on with their child each week to ensure a great start to their school year and have an opportunity to share their successes in our next Parent Circle.

Curriculum Overview

Youth demonstrate different ways to express self-love and then expand that love in their communities. We begin our first in a series of Back To School Spiritual Tools – Love As Safety.

2023 Theme: Living Out Loud!
September Monthly Theme: Love Out Loud
Week 4 Value: “I Love Myself So Much!”

Affirmation: I have the courage to be who I am and love myself out loud!

Spiritual Lesson: “I Love Myself So Much!”

The truth of us is that we are created in the image of LOVE, or Spirit as Love. Each of us is a unique expression of the creative power of Love, which means the REAL you is LOVE. Not some parts of you but ALL of YOU.

Learning to choose powerful, affirming emotions through our trials and errors will allow us to shine the light of love in the dark places.

Active Listening: Book/Music/Video

Meditation: Five Minutes of Self Love guided meditation

Book: I Think, I Am! by Louise L. Hay

Music: “I Love Myself So Much!” from CSL Teen Camps

Creative Expression –  Love As Safety

Youth look at the thoughts that occupy their mind as their school year begins and as they are introduced to many new opportunities for learning and social engagement. Practicing having a positive perspective and thoughts can guarantee many successes along their journey.

Connecting/Spiritual Practice: Expression of Love

Youth define their favorite way to practice self-love and choose an expression of love to share with someone in their CSL community and learn the CSL Teen Camp song, “I Love Myself So Much!”
