Curriculum Overview

Youth share ways they would like to transform their experiences in each area of their lives if given free rein and the ability to shine their light the brightest. They create a 3-D design of one of their dreams and watch it come to life in a lightbox.

2023 Theme: Living Out Loud!
May Monthly Theme: Light Within the Shadows
Week 4 Value: Lights, Camera, Action!

Affirmation: “My love is powerful. I spread my love, light, and joy for the entire world to see, feel, and experience.”

Spiritual Lesson: Lights, Camera, Action!

When we are brave enough to be authentic at the moment someone lights our stage, the universe responds, sending us energy to shine even brighter.

Active Listening: Book/Music/Video

Creative Expression –  Staging My Dream

Youth create a scene inside a lightbox of one of their dreams coming true. Each student opens other students’ boxes, places an affirmation of encouragement inside, and turns the light on. We open our own box, revealing inspiring truths and the possibility of our dream being lit up!

Connecting/Spiritual Practice: This Little Light of Mine

Today we take turns writing in each other’s light journals, describing what we like best about the light they shine.
