Winter Solstice Sunday Celebrations, 12-21-25

The Winter Solstice is a sacred pause — the moment when darkness reaches its deepest point and the light is reborn.
It’s the quiet turning of the Earth that invites us inward, asking us to reflect, release, and renew. Across centuries, people have honored this time as a holy threshold: a time to gather in stillness, to listen for inner guidance, and to welcome the returning light not only in the sky, but within ourselves.
It reminds us that even in the longest night, the promise of new beginnings is already stirring.

Center for Spiritual Living, Olympia, is partnering with Dances of Universal Peace and Soluna Soundworks for three special celebrations on Winter Solstice!

First, the CSLO will conduct a Winter Solstice Spiral Walk, a walking meditation that begins in darkness. We will hold this meditation as our service.

Each person walks the spiral path made of evergreen boughs, lights a candle from the central one, and places their candle along the path on their return.  In this way, each individual contributes to the growth of the light. It is an inspiration to witness the light pushing back the darkness throughout the ritual. The Spiral is accompanied by quiet live music.

We will hold this meditation as our service from 11am – noon, with music provided by Heather and Brent.

Dances of Universal Peace will also engage in the Spiral Walk at their usual time from 12:30 – 1:30 pm, with music provided by Dances of Universal Peace musicians.

What else you need to know:  Enter the space quietly to help set a reflective mood.  For safety, don’t wear long skirts and tie back long hair.  Candles will be provided for everyone. Children as young as 6 can enjoy participating in this.  Set an intention as you would for walking a labyrinth and remain open to the outcome.

Come alone or bring a friend!  Donation requested for Dances at the 12:30 pm session; no one turned away for lack of funds.

Join us for a Winter Solstice evening gathering honoring the longest night of the year as Hillary Myers, Soluna Soundworks, leads a special Winter Solstice Sound Bath & Celebration.

Starting at 5:00 pm, this 90-minute experience blends guided meditation, candlelight intention, and a deeply restorative sound bath designed to invite stillness, renewal, and quiet grounding as we move into the returning light.

You’ll be guided into rest with a Solstice-themed meditation before settling into a spacious soundscape of crystal and bronze singing bowls, chimes, and gentle gong tones. This evening is slow, warm, and deeply supportive. An invitation to pause and be held in sound at this turning point of the season.

Please pre-register or let Hillary know you’re planning to come. Space is limited, and we want to ensure everyone has room to rest comfortably with their mats, blankets, cushions, and layers.

🎒 Bring along whatever helps you feel cozy on the floor… a thick mat, blanket, pillows, or even a sleeping bag. Chairs + eye masks available.

🫶 All are welcome. No experience needed. Come as you are and leave feeling lighter.

💫 Ease tension. Soothe your nervous system. Come back to center.

This is your invitation to one or all three of our special Winter Solstice Celebrations!
