40-DAY LENTEN PRACTICE, 2-22-23
Many of us grew up in religions that observed a Lenten practice. You know, giving up candy, or your favorite toy, so you practice penitence and self-denial.

This is a different practice! “Lent” originally meant “Spring” in Olde English, circa the 13th century. It was a time of preparation for the onset of warmth, sunshine, and regeneration. The holiday of Easter was originally a fertility celebration of birth, rebirth, and renewal in nature.
